Mushete Foundation Saved to Serve (MFSS ) aims to draw attention to the voices and experiences of widows that are in need. Together, we can generate the support they need to empower themselves.
The loss of a partner is devastating. A long-term struggle for the right to essential needs, human rights, and dignity further magnifies this shattering loss for many women around the globe. MFSS recognizes the struggles these women face, in addition to the vital role they play in their families.
Their immediate needs include mental health support so they can take care of themselves and their children. Our programs also ensure they are equipped to take care of their physical well-being. Vocational training allows them to hone skills they can use for the rest of their lives. Our programs also ensure they have food, shelter, and basic necessities in order to lead a comfortable life with their orphaned children.
We are striving to equip these women with the tools they need to maintain independence. We provide access to workshops that empower them to act on this mindset. We teach them skills and we assist them in finding work, so they can provide for their families, and gain the confidence they need to do so.
Your contributions can help them master new skills – such as sewing, soap production, food production, and hairdressing. These skills allow them to sustain themselves and their families for life.

MFSS is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charity. All contributions designated for specific projects shall be applied to those projects, and we may assess up to 10 percent to be used for administering the gift. If, we receive more contributions for a given project than can be wisely applied to that project. When that happens, we use these funds to meet a similar pressing need.
